5THE BEST SOAP EVER!Aug 15, 2008
By Karen J. Forness "picky person"
DIAL DEODORANT BAR SOAPS - Pure & Natural Bar Soap, 4.5 oz, 12 packThis soap, and the regular Dial Pure & Natural Soap can no longer be found in my area. I have used the regular for years & years...it is the only soap my skin can tolerate...all others cause blemishes on my skin. I am desperate to find this product. Whatever possessed Dial to remove it from grocery and drugstores shelves?

5Not the same as Dial BasicApr 01, 2011
By Ross E. Taylor
I have used Dial Pure & Natural for at least ten years years because it is the only bar soap my skin can tolerate. When Dial quit making it, I continued to buy it on the after-market, but now it is getting outrageously expensive. So, more recently I have tried other soaps, including Dial Basic. Dial Basic is definitely not the same as Dial Pure & Natural -- no mater what the company may tell you. It feels different, it lathers different, it irritates my skin, and it feels chalky. Then about two months ago (Feb 2011), just as my supply of Pure & Natural had dwindled to nothing, I discovered Yardley Oatmeal & Almond. It actually feels better to my skin than Pure & Natural did, perhaps because the oatmeal is soothing (kind of like an Aveeno Bath, which contains ground oatmeal, which I remember using when I had chicken pox). Anyway, Yardley Oatmeal & Almond lasts a long time because it doesn't dissolve away in the shower like glycerin soaps do, it smells nice but very very mild (unlike Yardley English Lavender Soap which nearly knocked me to the floor when I smelled it), it cuts through my oily skin faster than Pure & Natural did (though my wife, who has dry skin, also uses it and says it does not dry her out), and it costs less than half of what Pure & Natural is now going for. I hope this helps someone out there like me who is skin sensitive but on a budget.

5It's been replaced by "Basics"Dec 04, 2008
By L. Cupp
Yes, the "Pure and Natural" was replaced by "Basics". Same soap, different name. Wal-Mart used to sell it, but now they don't. I just found it at the Dollar Tree store for about the same price, but who knows how long that's going to last. Looks like Dial may be getting rid of it all together. You can get "Basics" by the case for much cheaper than this item if you search for it on the net. I just found a case of 72 bars for $38!

1This is NOT the original Pure & NaturalJun 11, 2009
By Onoñdaʔgegáʔ★
The 're-packaged' soap they are selling is NOT the same as the original Pure & Natural that was sold before. The major selling point was that the original contained no perfumes or additives, thus the name. This one comes in a plain green wrapper packed 3 to a pack wrapped in cello. The ingredient label on this product I just purchased (06/2009) lists - glycerin, sorbitol, sodium chloride, fragrance, alow barbadensis leaf juice, pentasodium pentatate, tetrasodium etidronate, and titanium dioxide. I don't understand how they can legally pass this off as the original since it obviously isn't.

This soap has a very strong female perfume smell to it, definitely something men would want to avoid also.

3no need to buyNov 01, 2008
By Allie
Soap and delivery just right. However, after buying this product for high price because it's kind to my skin and I thought it was off the market, wrote to Dial company who said same product just has a new name-Dial Basic.Have not tried Dial Basic so don't know if they've changed the formula at all.
